My purpose is to support

you through your life’s

greatest initiation

HELLO!

2021-09-24---Sarah-S-02.jpg

I am Sarah, a 35 year-old married mom with two kids. I am originally from Belgium and always loved travelling around! I spent some time in Brussels, London, Luxembourg and then Cascais.

After the birth of my first child, I felt the urge to do something more with my life.

After months of wondering, I decided to open my very small organic crèche with a different approach based on a reduced number of children, qualified teachers and positive discipline guidelines.

In 2019, when my second child was born, I felt that same urge from the heart and decided to listen to it by doing first a Doula training and then a Parenting Coach in 2021 (finishing in 2022). After dedicating 3 years to little ones, it was time for me to dedicate my life to (future) families and especially moms.

I am now a Doula and a Parenting Coach in training.

WHAT I OFFER

I am here to support you on this journey of becoming a Parent, and to provide you with informative and emotional care

My support can be very different as it depends first on your needs and expectations. I can support you during the prenatal period, during the birth and/or during the fourth trimester (postpartum).

Becoming a Parent comes with a lot of information and unsolicited advice from... everyone. I am with you during this journey and I give you the opportunity to talk freely, without any judgment nor unsolicited advice/ comments.

I guarantee a safe space, where you can be really listened to and I give you time to reflect on your expectations and wishes, to just sit down, take a deep breath and reflect on your (future) life.

Together, we can rebuild the Village that we all need
to raise a child.

PRE-BIRTH

For the prenatal part, here is a list of some topics we can cover together...

  • Discussion and preparation of the birthplan

  • Preparation of breastfeeding

  • Preparation of the postpartum period

  • Discussion about the small "tips" you can use when giving birth in order to follow the waves in a smooth and more gentle way

  • Discussion about how the dad/partner can be supporting the mom giving birth

  • What you can pack in your hospital pieces of luggage and how organising them efficiently

  • Discussion and preparation of the arrival of a new sibling

  • Discussion about the birthlist: making the difference between the "must have" and marketing, according to your needs and personal situation

  • Recommendations about Facebook groups, podcasts, books according to your needs and interests

  • List of (non)-medical people who can support you as well

  • Babywearing

  • Aromatherapy advice (coming soon)

ON THE DAY OF THE BIRTH

Whether you decide to give birth at home, at the hospital, in a birth center, I can be there to support you. Obviously, this would have to be discussed beforehand between you and the structure you chose.

During the birth, I support you in this journey... I am here to make sure that your bubble is protected so you can go deep down within yourself and follow the waves peacefully… YOU are the only one who knows

When possible, my presence can also be supportive for your partner. During our prenatal meetings, we can discuss how he/she can be involved during the birth, according to your needs (which might, of course, be totally different on that day!)

Another aspect I can support you with is the care for siblings. Whether it might be organising the contacts with the other members of the family or taking care of them if needed. I can be "on call" at the end of your pregnancy and come to support your little ones when you leave to give birth.

I know this step is a major one in the life of a child and I offer nice and gentle care.

FOURTH TRIMESTER PERIOD

(post-partum)

Giving birth is a powerful in-depth journey and brings so many changes in our life, the way we are, think, feel.

I provide families with a safe space where they can talk about the birth, how it went and take some time to focus on themselves: partner and mother.

I am also there to answer any question you might have regarding many topics such as:

  • Breastfeeding, mixed feeding, pumping

  • Professionals in different medical fields and/or other moms from my network,

  • Small daily care (non-medical advice, diseases excluded): wrapping, ‘free bath’, gentle cleaning of the nose, etc.

  • Organising your space to encourage your little one’s motricity,

  • How to handle in a gentle way the arrival of the baby within the family (and reactions of the other siblings),

  • Sign language for babies (most important ones),

  • Physiological babywearing

    .

I can support you with the organisation and general tidying up of your space, going to the grocery store, the preparation of healthy meals, taking care of your baby or the other siblings for you to rest for a bit, take a shower or enjoy a moment just for yourself.

Finally, I am a gentle sleep consultant and offer private meetings to explore your little one’s rhythm, your family’s and how you can articulate all of this to be able to dance together.

LET’S WORK TOGETHER

I offer tailor-made support according to your needs

We can meet at your place or in a public space (at a coffee shop, for example). If you love nature, we could also meet in a park, go for a walk in a forest or along the water. The other options are my place or organise a Zoom meeting if you are abroad.

As I offer tailor-made support, do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to know more about me!
